These works were produced for the Young UIA art exhibition “The Opposite of Forgetting – an exhibition of memory and identity” which was held at Helen Gory Gallery in Melbourne, May 2009.

The exhibition was dreamed of and produced by curator Leah Crossman.

Ilana’s ethereal print series reassembles the vestiges of her heritage through her grandfather’s private treasures- letters, books, and fading photographs.
Invested with the love, secrets, and revelations of their owner, these intimate belongings come together like a puzzle with missing pieces, offering a fleeting, wistful glimpse of a far more complicated history.
